Get Ready – Fall Fashion at Macy’s

It’s officially FALL! My absolute favorite season of all! Yes, I totally rhymed… Why? Well for all the pumpkin spice chai lattes, pumpkin muffins, cooler weather (this Texas gal can wish for) football, the excitement for the holidays to begin! And, of course, FALL FASHION! Layer me up, maple buttercup! Give me all the boots, comfy sweaters, and the rich fall colors of the season, especially my favorite, burgundy! So, I was really excited to partner with Macy’s and the Houston Latina Bloggers, for Macy’s Get Ready – Fall Fashion event, held at the Willowbrook Mall, on Saturday, September 23rd.

When I arrived at Macy’s, I headed over to the beauty department, and met up with Chris, celebrity make up artist and stylist. He really got me glam for my event, using Smashbox and Anastasia of Beverly Hills cosmetics. He did some wonders to my brows! WOW!

After meeting with Megan, Assistant Manager, we headed to the My Stylist office, to get dressed in my outfits that Marisol, had styled for me. It was totally WEIRD to see MY face on their in store signage, announcing the event details.

Check out these gorgeous outfits! Marisol really chose pieces that reflected my personal style!

Love them all! The shoes!!!

Time for the event to begin! I’m ready in my first look! Find the outfits details here!

The best part of the event was having my daughters and my Mom attend. They are my biggest fans and Chloe was wonderful for being my event photographer!

So let’s talk about the Fall Fashion trends this season!

Western Vibrations

This fall, make eyes turn with this popular trend- Western Vibrations. This trend was inspired by the casual and embellished look. Something that says, “I’m from Texas but I have New York style.”

Embellished Denim: Denim is making a statement whether it is for pants, skirts or jackets. You can wear them all this season and better yet- add some flare to it. We’ve seen a lot of brands adding the western vibrations feel such as Levi’s, William Rast and Free People.

Fringe: We’ve seen this everywhere, whether it be on shoes, a handbag or a dress, fringe detailing is the look to have. This trend creates a fun yet exciting look from the ordinary. Add onto your outfit with a fringe inspired scarf to create a more layered look. This has been a popular trend among brands such as Vince Camuto, Rachel Roy and Style and Co. I highly recommend getting ready for fall with fringe!

Plaid Shirts/Button ups: What says Western Vibrations more than plaid? Plaid shirts are every fall must have, whether it’s over a basic tee, around the waist or worn tucked in some destroyed denim. This is one of my favorite trends this fall. One thing I love about plaid is you really have the ability and the freedom to dress it up or down. You can dress it down with jeans, a pair of chucks and a messy bun. Or dress it up with statement jewelry and a pair of dress boots. The possibilities are endless!

Leather Jackets: Even though it may still be 90 degrees in Texas…we’re still going to talk about jackets. I’m here to prepare you for those (cooler) months to come. Wearing a leather jacket can elevate any outfit. A true leather jacket can add a modern twist yet still have a timeless appeal. For this, I recommend brands such as William Rast, Michael Kors and Lucky brand. Add this to a pair of skinny leg pants and black pumps, and you’re ready for a night on the town!

Modern Muse

Maybe Western Vibrations isn’t your cup of tea. Are you looking for a more modern feel? Look no further. This year, step out this season in your favorite fashions that have been reworked with fun details and bold prints!

The Dramatic Sleeve: Tired of wearing the same old style over and over again? This season, I recommend changing up your closet with the dramatic sleeve. This could include bell sleeves (very popular) ruffles, and even off the shoulder. This trend is highly featured on the It List which includes brands such as: Anne Klein, Calvin Klein, Kensie Charter Club and so much more. I love that this trend really expresses your creativity and individuality. What more fun could that be?

Dresses: Fall is still the season for dresses. That’s why they have curated some popular dress trends all from the Macy’s Dress Edit. We are seeing popular statements like floral, lace detailing, dramatic ruffles and more. Pair any dress with some cute fall booties or your favorite pair of heels and you’re ready for a weekend with the girls.

The Mule: I’m sure you’ve all seen it before. The Mule has been a demand across brands such as Anna Sui, Steve Madden and even Michael Kors. This shoe can be paired with a pair of dress pants for the office, a skirt for a fun lunch outing, or even a pair of boyfriend style jeans for a casual Sunday.

More is More

This is where the fun and creativity comes in. Who doesn’t love a piece of clothing that speaks directly toward your personality? This trend is highlighting bold colors, opulent textures and fun statement accessories. There is no such thing as going too overboard!

Faux- Leather leggings: Looking for style and comfort without going over budget? Look no further than faux leggings. You’re probably thinking, “I can’t wear that in Texas?” But I am here to assure you, you can! This look can be yours to own. Brands like Hue and Kensie are providing durability, breathability and most importantly, comfort. Every girl needs a pair of faux leggings to pair with her favorite top, colorful pumps and dramatic accessories!

Chokers: I’m sure you’ve seen them everywhere; The Choker. This trend is vintage inspired with a touch of romance and over all downtown diva style. There are so many options to choose from, you could almost have one for every outfit!

Bomber Jackets: This trend has recently been added to the Fall It List for good reason. Brands such as Free People, Anna Sui, Guess and more have accentuated this casual yet trendy vibe.

Metallic:  Looking for that eye-catching style staple piece? Metallic fabric has hit the selling floor. This trend has been popular amongst clothing such as dresses, t-shirts, skirts and more. It is sure to make you stand out in the crowd, in a good way of course! Metallic can be dressed up for any formal occasion. Pair with some statement earrings and slip on those silver heels.
